Greetings on this Sunday evening - have begun the editing process following the wedding yesterday. Am touring the next venue on May 1st with the wedding date being June 15th 

Hello everyone - stopping in for a quick update on my Facebook page as I have added a calendar option for booking my photography services - see the info below and thanks for stopping by. 

The countdown for next weekends wedding has begun!! Emailed the couple this morning to touch base with them one week prior to the day. Has been a fun and busy time learning Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, but thoroughly enjoying the process.

Sunday evening greetings ~ wanted to chime in as it's been a busy time with the April 20th wedding drawing closer. Decided to return the 85mm after I received the 50mm lens and felt it was better suited for wedding photography within the venue. Decided to order a new laptop with better graphics instead and have switched software editing programs along with it. Have been using Corel Paintshop Pro for a few years and have made the transition to Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Am loving the challenge of something new.

The meeting with the April wedding couple went very well. Timeline details were verified as well as other wedding day photography specifics. Following that meeting I visited the Icon Lounge wedding venue  (see images below) to take a few shots with a new lens I recently purchased and it was set up for another reception. Due to the small floor space of this venue I felt the Nikon 50mm lens would be more suited, so ordered it yesterday.

 My quest for a camera case more suited to my photography needs has been ongoing for over a year and today felt I finally located a camera case that will work for my needs. I located this Tenba Attache on Adorama’s website and love this will work for wedding day purposes as well as travel. 

My new investment for portrait and weddings arrived today! The Nikon 85mm prime lens - 1.8 aperture allows for the lens to capture more light. 

This lens pairs nicely with my current lens of the Nikon 35mm and Nikon 18-300mm lens which shares the filter size of 67mm with the 85mm lens. My camera body is the Nikon D5600.  

Will be busy this Saturday as I’m meeting with the April bride to touch on details and visiting the venue for a second visit and taking the new lens and the recent MagMod diffuser system I acquired.

New Year – New Investment

I am stepping up my photography game with two weddings in 2019 with a new external flash diffuser system. MagMod is a smart lighting system with rave reviews. The silicone diffuser gives a wider beam of light and the grid fitting over the flash gives a tighter focus of light. Gels give other options with lighting as well.

Floral’s are one of my favorite subjects to photography – the varieties of flowers and colors are wondrous to capture in morning light with “bokeh”: the aesthetic quality of the blur of the out-of-focus portions of an image produced by a lens and macro photography  captures the details of the flower petals and morning dew drops

New Year ~ New Possibilities

8th Annual Orange City Arts’ Regional Exhibition

The Artist’s Showcase: Orange City Arts’ Regional Exhibition. The exhibit will be April 5-27, 2019 at the Northwestern College DeWitt Theatre Arts Center, Orange City Iowa

I have entered the two images shown in this blog to this exhibit. Both are professionally matted and framed and ready to hang.  Artwork for this exhibit is selected by a juried panel and those selected will be notified by email March 28th, 2019
